Team-Building

Team building isn't just a feel-good exercise; it's a critical component of unleashing a team's full potential.
It ignites genuine connections, sparking productive conflict and cultivating deep trust within the team.

Unfortunately, most approaches to team building miss the mark by swinging to extremes—either too fluffy, focusing solely on fun without substance, or too rigid, packed with non-engaging lectures that fail to bring people together. That's where my services transform the landscape.

My approach to team building is meticulously grounded in cutting-edge research on team dynamics and effectiveness. I delve into the essence of what makes teams click: engaging in healthy conflict, developing unshakable trust, and alignment on shared goals.

With a rich repertoire of activities honed over years of application in diverse settings, my sessions are dynamic and fully customizable. Offering sessions ranging from an hour to full-day retreats, my programs are tailor-made to meet your team's unique needs.

Each session blends science-backed insights with practical, engaging exercises designed to strengthen team bonds and enhance communication. I provide clear explanations of the "why" behind each activity, ensuring that every exercise is not just educational but also directly contributes to building your team's cohesion and capacity to excel.

Whether you're looking to forge new teams, rejuvenate existing ones, or tackle specific challenges, my programs offer a transformative experience. Your team will not only have fun but also emerge with a deeper understanding of what it means to be effective collaborators and supportive teammates.

Some of My Favorite Activities Include:

  • Murder Mystery (approx 2hrs). Lessons on team communication and trust, especially the importance of sharing unique information and ideas for cross-functional teams.

  • Executive Complex Challenge (approx 2hrs). An engaging puzzle for the team to solve based on little bits of distributed information (like most work problems). Connects to lessons on communication, collaboration, and leadership under uncertainty.

  • Team Charter/Norms (approx 2hrs). Hands-on team discussions to clarify team goals, roles, values, and expectations, with a focus on norm development and respectful interactions. Especially valuable to launch a new team.

  • Survival on the Moon (approx 1hr). Teams rank-order the most important items for them to survive a crash landing on the moon. Emphasizes psychological safety, diverse expertise, and team decision-making strategies to thwart the potential for groupthink.
